Iron On Labels Application Guide

This is the manufacturer's guide to application and care for your iron on labels.

REMOVE THE BLACK STRIP FROM THE LABEL BEFORE ATTACHING IT TO THE GARMENT

ATTACHING THE LABEL

  1. Remove the black strip from the label.
  2. Iron the garment where the label is to be applied.
  3. Position the label where you want it.
  4. Set the iron to 'dry' and a medium-high temperature (130°C to 170°C) - usually the middle setting on your iron.
  5. Cover the label with another cloth to prevent sticking of the adhesive to the iron. Use the flat surface of the iron (usually the rear if the iron), press the iron down firmly on the label and keep the iron still for 10 seconds.
  6. Repeat 3 times allowing the label to cool between each repetition.
  7. Press down on each of the short edges of the label for a further 10 to 15 seconds.

WASHING

Garments with correctly attached labels can be washed a number of times. Generally mild or alkaline detergents should be used and a temperature below 60°C.

The label may become discoloured if the garment is placed in bleach for an extended length of time.

REMOVING THE LABEL

Place the iron set to medium-high temperature (130°C to 170°C) on the label, press down, then use tweezers to peel off the fabric tape starting from its edge. Take care as the label and the iron are extremely hot.

TIPS

*For best results, attach the label to garments with smooth surfaces made with 100% linen, 100% cotton or cotton and polyester blends.
*Do not move the iron while pressing, since this may cause the label to move out of the desired position. Keep the iron pressed flat.
*If the iron temperature is too low, the label will not attach well to the fabric and may peel off during washing.
*If the edges of the label begin to peel off after being washed a few times, try pressing them down again with the warm iron.
*Although the labels are non-toxic, do not place in your mouth.
